Happy Anniversary!

Back in September, I received a call from my Makeup Artist, Lauryn Guidry of ColoringInsideTheLines for a Pin Up Anniversary gift. It's not every day a wife and mother of two is able to get all dolled up and treated like a princess, especially for her husband! I was stoked!  

The big day finally came and after her makeup was complete, she was off to get her hair styled by Laura Cisneros of Wild Designs & Styles. Without a doubt, both came out amazing and this beautiful blonde bombshell was ready for Perfectly Imperfect Designs! Not to be selfish, but I took full advantage of this gorgeous woman!

Sweet Shots

The last two months have definitely been busy and full of unexpected surprises but that did not stop the Sweet Shots of Cheesecakes By Jon and Perfectly Imperfect Designs!

Jon Coleman hit the road running and dedicated an entire day for these two lovely cakes. This sweet baby is the 'Berry Double Layer'. She is fabulous for any birthday! 

The next gorgeous cake is one, if not the most popular of Cheesecakes By Jon. This beauty is called the 'Ultimate Turtle Chocolate'. This cake makes a glorious Groom's Cake!

Nguyen Session

Last Friday was an absolute honor to photograph one of the most amazing families I know.

I met Allen aka "Chino" in July 1996 during the first week of summer band. Yes, we we're both 'band nerds'. He played percussion and I played clarinet and we hit it off pretty well. Chino had a great sense of humor and I laugh at just about anything so our friendship grew without a problem. We would get into trouble for laughing too loud or playing the drum cadences on the keyboard. Either way freshman flew by!
Throughout the 4 years of high school we remained friends. After graduation Chino enlisted into The Marines. Things went well for him for a while but life can sometimes bring heartache. Over time, he was introduced to a lovely young woman by the name of Amanda. Amanda was a confident, flirty and fashionable woman and Chino had it for her bad! Finally the big day came and those two crazy love birds made it official. Amanda made Chino an honest man! Now with two gorgeous girls wrapped around his finger, I can say that I am a very lucky woman, photographer but most of all a friend of these fabulous people! Cheers to The Nguyen Family, you folks are truly amazing!

Amaretto Cheesecake

Great news folks! Jon Coleman of Cheesecakes By Jon and I, that of Perfectly Imperfect Designs had a meeting with the idea of merging these two very special businesses together. We thought long and hard and we have decided to make our world a little sweeter, one cheesecake at a time. More than anything, we would love to share this with you!


Over the last few weeks we have successfully captured the beauty and elegance of Jon's cakes. This week, I'm honored to introduce Jon's Amaretto Cheesecake. 


"This elegant cake features a coffee cookie crust. Creamy spiced amaretto layer and garnished with fresh whole almonds, white and dark chocolate shavings." says Jon.


With 16 . Fine, with 15 slices (yes, I had to take a piece) of almond beauty in his hands Jon stepped into his workplace and within 10 minutes every slice was sold out.

Goldie Locks

One night out on the town, I was recently introduced to Kayla by one of our mutual friends. This young lady instantly caught my eye. She was tall, had an amazing smile and golden locks that curled perfectly down her back.

Kayla, a 23 year old young woman chatted with me about her tattoo and her interest in photography. I mentioned to her that I had just started my 'Inked' project and we instantly connected and soon after we scheduled her portrait session.

Since her session, Kayla and I have discussed other interests such as hopes, dreams, love and life. As suspected, this young woman has her heart and mind in the right place and she is not going to let anyone stop her from achieving those goals. This young lady has so many wonderful ambitions and I cannot wait to watch her succeed.

Spinach Quiche Savory Cheesecake

Today I was honored to spend time with the infamous Jonathan Coleman, culinary artist and extraordinaire. Although I only had a few hours of photojournalist coverage, I did in fact learn a great deal about this amazing individual and his passion for cheesecakes.

Late morning arrived and prep time began. Jon became very focused and said very little as thoughts and ideas swirled though his head. Sounds of cracked pepper and sautéed spinach filled his kitchen. To my surprise, Jon began to speak but quite differently from the man I was introduced to. What was this you ask? Instructions. Yes, Jon spouted out every detail throughout his Spinach Quiche Savory Cheesecake journey. Jon included tips and suggestions but most of all, his learned experiences. His love for his cakes radiated off of him and I witnessed the most pure, content man I knew as Jon Coleman. I found myself swinging my feet from my chair in tune with each word that came from his mouth just as I did when my mother taught me how to bake and this filled my heart with joy.

Mid afternoon drew closer and the aroma of feta and ricotta filled the room and Jon turned back into the cheesecake artist. He began to slice petite cherry tomatoes and parsley to garnish his perfectly browned quiche to complete his masterpiece. And after hours, he succeeded.

Without a doubt, this savory Spinach Quiche was one of the most beautiful cakes I have ever laid eyes on and the most delicious quiche that has ever touched my palette.

Jon, my heart and belly thank you.
